Best Black Friday Deals 2025: Synology, NAS, HDDs, Networking, & More

Black Friday has officially started, and there are a ton of great deals, but a lot of them…aren’t so great, so we’re going to take a look at the best Black Friday deals for Synology, NAS, networking, and just about anything home lab related.

Best Black Friday Deals 2025: Synology, NAS, Networking, Hard Drives, & More

We’ll look at some of the best Black Friday deals of 2025 below and compare them to their all-time lows to determine exactly how good of a deal these are.

NAS Devices

The Synology DS925+ is on sale for $511.99! This is the latest 4-bay NAS device from Synology, which received a lot of bad press initially because of hard-drive restrictions, but they were recently lifted with DSM 7.3 (so you can now use your own third-party hard drives).

Synology still makes the best prebuilt NAS device, mainly because of the DSM operating system, and if you’re in the market for one, now is a great time to buy.

UGREEN NAS devices are also on sale, and I like UGOS a lot (didn’t initially), and like even more that you can install a third-party OS on them. I have done this with TrueNAS, and it’s run great. If you’re looking purely for hardware specs, the UGREEN devices are far better than Synology and flexible too (due to the third-party OS options).

NAS Hard Drives

As of right now, there aren’t that many great hard drive deals, but there are a few. You can pick up a 28TB or 16TB Seagate IronWolf Pro drive for between $16-18 per terabyte (depending on the model.

If you want a smaller, but more expensive device (per terabyte), the WD Red Pro 14TB drive is on sale as well. Not as good of a deal per terabyte, but not terrible either.

If you’re interested in an external hard drive that can be used for backup purposes, or are interested in removing the drive from the external enclosure for use as an internal drive, the WD Elements drive is on sale for a great price at B&H Photo.

Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD

This is a drive that would be great for general usage, but is fairly questionable for SSD cache, though many people use it. For $160, you get a great NVMe SSD with a TBW of 1200TB, meaning that technically, it’s not the worst option for consumer-grade SSD caching, but it’s not the best either. I’d recommend a WD Red SN700 for read/write cache, but if you only need read cache, this is a good option.

Networking (Routers, Switches, & More)

If you’re using a regular ISP router and are interested in upgrading, the UniFi Dream Router 7 is the device I’d suggest starting with. It’s on sale for Black Friday at $229.00 and gives you the complete UniFi software suite, including their cloud-hosted site manager.

You’re able to configure VPNs, VLANs, extremely advanced firewall rules, and more. It’s so much more powerful than a regular ISP router, and it’s on sale for a great price.

Example guest network VLAN on UniFi device.

If you need a 2.5GbE Switch and are not in the UniFi ecosystem (buy a UniFi one if you are), you can’t go wrong with this TRENDnet 2.5GbE Switch at this price. It’s not going to be perfect for everyone, but it’s a good

Pair the Switch or Router above with a 2.5GbE Ethernet adapter like the Wavlink 2.5GbE USB-C/A adapter, and you’ll be able to add 2.5GbE to any device you own.

Laptop / Mini PCs

Working in IT, the question I receive more than anything else is “which laptop should I buy?”, and if you’re asking this question, you should buy the MacBook Air M4. Simply put, for the price, you’re not going to find anything with better battery life, performance, or portability. It’s extremely reliable, and it’ll last for many years. Even if you don’t like macOS, you should probably still buy it…

From the look of it, tariffs have hurt Mini PCs a lot. Black Friday was notoriously a huge day for Mini PC sales, and there really aren’t any that are worth it. With that said, there is a device that is arguably the best overall Mini PC that exists, and it’s the M4 Mac Mini. It won’t be as flexible from an OS perspective, but it’ll do just about anything you throw at it.

UPS Devices

Almost everyone would benefit from a UPS, but you’d be surprised at how few buy them. These are pure sine-wave devices that come in two sizes (1500VA is the larger one). Depending on what you’re looking to do, the 1000VA UPS might be perfect, but if you want to future-proof yourself, spring for the 1500VA.

Miscellaneous Items

There are a few items that aren’t going to be the most popular but can be super helpful. I go over why in the video above, but here’s a quick description of some of them:

  • KVM devices are something that you will eventually benefit from, and basically allow you to connect to a device through a web browser (without a monitor, keyboard, or mouse). You can buy the PoE version or the non-PoE (Wi-Fi) version.
  • I love these smart plugs because they allow you to monitor the energy usage of a device. This allows you to create automations based on a device turning on/off, etc, or just know how much power it’s using. I have these everywhere, and they’re awesome. You can get either individual outlets or a full power strip.
  • I’m not sure how popular travel routers are, but this one is pretty cool. It runs OpenWRT making it extremely flexible and while you don’t have to use it as a travel router, due to it’s size, that’s what most people use it for.
  • This one is kind of random but if you’re tired of buying compressed air, this will solve that problem forever. You can buy one with a removable battery or a non-removable battery.

Final Thoughts on the 2025 Black Friday Deals

These are some of the best Black Friday Deals of 2025 for Synology, NAS, hard drives, networking, Mini PCs, and more. Overall, a lot of the deals are slowly coming out and this list will continue to be updated as they do. Most of these items are at, or close to their all-time low, so if you are interested in finding the best overall deals on this specific hardware, now is generally the time to do it.
