BLACK FRIDAY IS OVER BUT CHECK OUT OUR CYBER MONDAY DEALS FOR 2024!
Black Friday starts on Friday, 11/29/2024, but there are a ton of great deals already, so we’re going to take a look at the best Black Friday deals for Synology, NAS, networking, and just about anything home lab related.
More importantly, most “deals” aren’t always deals. Generally, certain devices are put on sale but the prices are raised in advance to make it look like a sale. We’ll be utilizing a website called CamelCamelCamel which tracks Amazon prices to determine just how good these Black Friday deals are.
This list will be updated as the day goes on and new deals will be added, with old or out-of-stock deals being removed!

Best Black Friday Deals 2024: Synology, NAS, Networking, Hard Drives, & More
We’ll look at some of the best Black Friday deals of 2024 below, and compare them to their all-time lows to determine exactly how good of a deal these are.
Synology DS923+
The Synology DS923+ is on sale for $509.99 on Newegg and $499.30 on Amazon! This is the latest 4-bay NAS device from Synology, one that I own that functions very well for the price. We have no idea if/when the Synology DS925+ is coming, and when it does, it won’t be on sale for this price, so if you want to purchase a 4-bay Synology NAS, this is the time.

This is the lowest overall price that this device has been on sale for in almost two years. It’s also important to remember that since it comes with DSM, you’re getting a rock-solid operating system that is generally regarded as enterprise-grade.
Synology DS1821+
The Synology DS1821+ is on sale for Black Friday at $899.99. While the DS1825+ is rumored to be coming out, it’s also rumored to have the same processor with potentially 4GB more memory and 2.5GbE instead of 1GbE. If those rumors are true, I’d suggest that you buy the DS1821+ and potentially add those upgrades if you need it (especially because this device will run significantly better with the 10GbE card.

The DS1821+ is also close, though not as low as its all-time low. That’s not reflected on the chart below, but it was as low as $800-850 in the past…this is probably the best you’ll get it these days, though.
Synology DS723+
This is currently on a lightning deal so I’m not sure how long this will last, but it’s basically the two-bay version of the DS923+. Comes with the same processor and can be expanded with a DX517 expansion unit. There’s a chance the DS224+ will go on sale later today, but regardless, this is the better overall model due to the ECC memory – the exception being if you want it for Plex, as the DS224+ will be able to handle hardware transcoding and this cannot.

Synology DS223j
The Synology DS223j isn’t my favorite NAS, but quite honestly, at this price, you get the perfect off-site backup or starter NAS. It has a pretty weak processor but allows you to run Btrfs, and more importantly, the DSM operating system that everyone loves.

Same as the Synology DS1821+ above, this isn’t at it’s lowest price, but it’s $10 off, so if you want one of these as a basic NAS or an off-site backup, now is the time.
24TB IronWolf Pro Enterprise NAS Hard Drive
As of right now, this is the best overall NAS hard drive you can purchase. It’s $16.66 per terabyte, and unlike the drives below, is an IronWolf Pro so you should get slightly better performance and reliability. Funny enough, the 20TB model is slightly less per terabyte (like 20 cents), but I’d spring for the additional storage if you can make it work.

This is the lowest price that this item has ever been, and while there’s a chance you’ll find a drive for less when Black Friday officially starts, if you need something like this, now is the time to buy it.
16TB Seagate IronWolf Pro NAS Hard Drive
This is a consumer-grade NAS hard drive which comes in at $249.99 for Black Friday. I have used Seagate IronWolf NAS drives in almost every device that I’ve built and these are some of my favorite drives, especially since this is an IronWolf Pro drive. This is by far the lowest price-to-terabyte ratio for an internal HDD.

Using the CamelCamelCamel price tracker, you can see that this drive is close to its all-time low, so it isn’t a bad time to jump on it. It comes in around ~$15.62 per Terabyte (Price-to-Terabyte is the best way to calculate hard-drive and solid-state drive deals) which is pretty dang good. The 8TB drive is on sale for $149.99 as well, but at a $18.75 price-to-terabyte ratio, so I’d spring for the 16TB if you can afford it.
Samsung 980 Pro NVMe SSD
This is a drive that would be great for general usage, but is fairly questionable for SSD cache, though many people use it. For $120, you get a great NVMe SSD with a TBW of 1200TB meaning that technically, it’s not the worst option for consumer-grade SSD caching, but it’s not the best either. I’d recommend a WD Red SN700 for read/write cache, but if you only need read cache, this is a good option.

Western Digital Elements 20TB
This is one of my favorite deals on the list. It’s a 20TB Western Digital Elements external hard drive. This can be used as a local backup for a NAS device, or even as a regular, internal SATA drive as it can be removed from the case (shucked). These are white-label, Western Digital Red NAS drives, meaning that it physically has a white label but is a CMR NAS hard drive. From a price-to-terabyte ratio, it’s hard to get better than this.

UniFi Express (Router/Firewall)
If you’re using a regular ISP router and are interested in upgrading, this is the device I’d suggest starting with. It’s on sale for Black Friday at $109.00 and gives you the complete UniFi software suite, including their cloud-hosted site manager.

You’re able to configure VPNs, VLANs, extremely advanced firewall rules, and more. It’s so much more powerful than a regular ISP router and it’s on sale for a great price.
TerraMaster F4-424 Pro
From a pure hardware perspective, I’d say it’s almost impossible to build anything like the TerraMaster F4-424 Pro – it is truly an amazing value. It’s got an 8-core Intel i3-N305 CPU and comes with 16GB of DDR5 memory that can be upgraded to 32GB. The TerraMaster F4-424 Pro is on sale for $519.99, making it the absolute best NAS you can purchase on Black Friday in 2024.

The downside of this device is it runs TOS 6, and it’s not the best, nor my favorite operating system, but like the UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus which we’ll take a look at below, you can install any operating system you’d like since it has an HDMI port (assuming you’re willing to do that).
The Amazon price history shows how great of a deal this TerraMaster device is in comparison to it’s normal price.
UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus
The UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus is a great deal ($559.99 for Black Friday, down from $699.99), but it’s not as good of a deal as the TerraMaster F4-424 Pro above. If you’d rather a 2-Bay NAS device, the UGREEN DXP2800 is on sale as well for a good price ($319.99).
Click here to purchase the UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus on Amazon
The benefit over that device is that this comes with a 10GbE NIC out of the box, and while the Intel Pentium Gold 8505 Processor is slightly slower than the TerraMaster above, for a NAS device, this is more than capable.
It comes with 8GB of DDR5 memory as opposed to the 16GB, so from a comparison perspective, this device is worse than the TerraMaster outside of the networking. You’re basically paying $40.00 for 10GbE, but since the TerraMaster can’t be upgraded to 10GbE, you’re locked in with this device if you want that.
I’m not going to pretend like I love the operating system that comes on UGREEN NAS devices because I don’t, but you can put Unraid, TrueNAS, OpenMediaVault, or any other operating system you’d like on this. If you aren’t sure which operating system to use, check out the video I did below on the best NAS operating systems.
QNAP TS-464-8G-US
QNAPs operating system is generally regarded as the second best operating system you can get in a prebuilt device (with Synology being number one). This QNAP 4-bay NAS is a good overall device when you take the operating system into consideration. If you remove the operating system from the equation, you should purchase the TerraMaster NAS above as it’s simply better than this from a hardware perspective, but if the OS is important (and you don’t want to buy the Synology DS923+ above), this is it!
Click here to purchase the QNAP TS-464-8G-US on Amazon
This is the absolute lowest price that this device has ever been on sale for, so if you want a QNAP NAS, this is the time to buy it.
MINISFORUM MS-01
The MINISFORUM MS-01 is generally known as the home lab king as a Mini PC that can be used as a home server. It comes with two 10Gb SFP+ ports and two 2.5GbE ports, has a PCIe slot, two NVMe slots, and one additional expansion slot. Overall, this thing is an absolute beast for the price – just keep in mind that this is barebones and requires an SSD and memory. The better model with the i9-13900H is on sale as well, though I’d probably suggest going with the i9-12900H.

Beelink EQR6
The Beelink EQR6 is on sale for $329.00 which is a great deal for the Ryzen processor it comes with, but more importantly, the 24GB of DDR5 memory. This thing can be used as a desktop replacement, or even for home lab purposes as a hypervisor or something else. The downside with this device is if you want to use it as a hypervisor and want some sort of hardware transcoding, you’re better off going with an Intel model of QuickSync.

GMKTec NucBox G3
The GMKTec NucBox G3 is a great little Mini PC, and for Black Friday, it’s on sale at an all-time low price. It has an N100 processor which can be used for hardware transcoding with Plex, making it a great complement to something like a NAS device. I’ve used this exact device to build a Mini PC Home Server, and three of them can be used to build a Proxmox Cluster.
Click here to purchase the GMKTec NucBox G3 on Amazon
Speaking honestly, this device goes on sale a lot, but this it’s at an all-time low (granted, by only $2.00) and for a device with a 256GB SSD and 8GB of DDR4 memory, it’s not the worst deal by a longshot.
SODOLA 8-Port 2.5GbE Switch
The name on this device isn’t the most known, but honestly, I’m not sure it matters. The price-to-performance is crazy when you consider that it has four 2.5GbE ports and two 1/2.5/10Gb SFP ports for $34.99. There is also a managed version on sale ($47.99), but I have never used it, so I have no idea how well it will perform from a management interface perspective.
Click here to purchase the SODOLA 2.5GbE Switch on Amazon
Unfortunately, it’s unmanaged so you won’t be able to use it with VLANs (unless you configure them on an upstream device and use the whole Switch on a separate VLAN), but it’s a pretty great overall deal if you’re looking to upgrade your networking, and it’s at an all-time low price.
Wavlink 2.5GbE USB-C & USB-A Adapter
Pair the Switch above with a 2.5GbE ethernet adapter like the Wavlink 2.5GbE USB-C/A adapter and you’ll be able to add 2.5GbE to any device you own.
Click here to purchase the Wavlink 2.5GbE USB Adapter on Amazon
There’s not really much to this device, as it just adds 2.5GbE networking to a device that doesn’t have it, but for $19.19, it’s at an all-time low, and it’s not a bad deal by any means. Keep in mind that this device requires a 2.5GbE Switch to get full speeds!
Crucial X9 2TB/4TB SSD
If you need a portable SSD, this is it. For $219.99, you get 4TB of storage and if you only need 2TB, it’s half the price. It’s USB-C, and quite honestly, there’s not really much to it – fast performance for a reasonable price.
Click here to purchase the Crucial X9 on Amazon
This device is not at an all-time low, but it’s close to it and a good enough deal in my opinion to get it now instead of waiting for it to (potentially) go on sale for less.
GL.iNet Travel Router
I’m not sure how popular travel routers are, but this one is pretty cool. It runs OpenWRT making it extremely flexible and while you don’t have to use it as a travel router, due to it’s size, that’s what most people use it for.
Click here to purchase the GL.iNet Travel Router on Amazon
It’s at an all-time low price so if you’re someone who travels a lot, this might be the perfect device to add to your travel bag. No more configuring all of your devices for WiFi! Connect this device and everything will automatically connect!
Final Thoughts on the 2024 Black Friday Deals
These are some of the best Black Friday Deals of 2024 for Synology, NAS, hard drives, networking, Mini PCs, and more. Overall, a lot of the deals are slowly coming out and this list will continue to be updated as they do. Most of these items are at, or close to their all-time low, so if you are interested in finding the best overall deals on this specific hardware, now is generally the time to do it.
Make sure you keep checking this list if you’re looking for the best Black Friday deals of 2024!
